Default Water in DW - no motor activity

I have a GSD6600G00CC DW that I went to empty tonight and found it full of water. I closed the door and pressed the start/reset button to drain it. The motor did not start (the "steam" latch did move) and the start/reset button just blinks for a few minutes; it beeps once and the panel goes blank.

I am leaving for a cruise tomorrow so if I can diagnose the problem, I can order the part(s) before I leave. I am good with mechanical and electrical issues, so I am confident that I can fix this.

Great site and thanks for the help!

Thanks for the info Jake

My wife also reminded me that the dishwasher also makes aloud whirring noise while it is washing that will appear and disappear either on its own or by her opening an closing the door a few times. It does not happen(that we are aware of) when the DW is draining water.

She thinks it has something to do with the spinning arms in the DW, I am thinking that it is the pump that pushes the water around.

Your thoughts?

So i finished draining out the dishwasher, it looks like it was in midcycle when the dw died. There is food particulates and just some funk in there which I am cleaning up but was wondering if spraying some lysol in there to keep the DW clean while we are away for the 8 days would harm anything.

I didn't want to use any bleach in case it would corrode something in the dw since I can't rinse it out well.

No, I don't think Lysol would be a good idea. White Vinegar seems to be better.

I'll see if we have any of that here at the house. Any ideas about this?

Yes, its likely the wash pump.

Here's the wash pump assembly for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: WD26X10015

iconWD26X10015

Check your owners manual warranty, you may have an extended warranty on the wash pump or the control module itself. These major parts can get expensive.
