Default GE MONOGRAM Dishwasher Won't Drain

Model Number is ZBD 6880. Won't drain. Removed drain hose, removed disposal elbow, p trap, everything is very clean. Sink and disposal work fine. Removed the plastic screen device over the DW drain, removed all the standing water and some amount of crud, but nothing that appeared to be significant enough to prevent drainage. Cen see all the way to the bottom of the sump, looks all clear.

We are in GA, local codes don't require an air gap, and we don't have one. GE Answer Center was a woman reading the manual out loud to me, thanks for the help. I have not yet re-run the DW to see if it works, but again, I didn't remove any debris that was significant enough to cause the no-drain problem. Unit is 3 years old, lightly used family of two.

Suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi,

We would need the complete model#, There should be 2 more numbers and 2 more letters after the "0" at the end of your model#.

Your model# is located inside your dishwasher door on the frame or inside tub.

Thanks,

Now when it trys to drain, do you hear the drain motor come on or is it just dead? No noise at all from the dishwasher?

Your model has a separate drain pump motor, its #325 here:

If that motor is just humming and not draining, then you either have something jammed/clogged in it, or your drain motor is bad.

Here's the drain pump motor assembly for your model:
Manufacturer part number WD26X10037 is RepairClinic item number 1472739

It is humming, not dead. How is the pump accessed?

You have to take off your lower front access panel #759 here:

And you may need to remove your outer door panel#711, should just unscrew from the inside door liner.

If you still can't get good access to it, you may need to pull your dishwasher out, which would require you to remove the water supply line and electrical and drain hose if they are not long enough to pull out with the dishwasher.
