GE Electric Oven fan noise
GE wall oven cooks fine. Cool down horrible noise from unseen fan (not the fan at the back of the oven)
Where is this fan, sounds like it is somewhere around the casing? How do I get it to stop making this noise? (high pitched wheeen)

oven noise
It is a model JTP18 GE Built in oven
It makes the noise only when the oven has been on for a while. We can get it to stop quicker by leaving the oven door open to cool down quicker. It is not the fan at the back .Some other internal fan?
Thanks,
Greg

Ok Greg, your missing some of your model#, there should be 2 more letter then 1 number then 2 more letters at the end of it.
You have a fan in the control panel assembly that turns on when the oven heats up, that may be the one making the noise.

So what can I do to fix this fan in the control panel? Why would it be making this noise? I've taken the control panel off before. Will it be easy to get to the fan once I take off the control panel? What should I do once I am in there?
Note: this was the model on the manual???

Thanks, yes on your model you have the console fan motor and the oven fan motor, is it definitely coming from the one in the console?
Its #32 here:

Here's the fan motor for the one in the console:
Manufacturer's Number: WB26K5061

Awesome, pull off the console and replace the console fan got it.
Note: it has to be the fan as when we open up the oven at times we can see the oven fan has stopped but the noise continues, it sounds like it is coming from around the top of the fan, ie the console.
Is it pretty simple to get in there and replace it? Looks like not too complicated according to the schematic.
Thanks again,
Greg
