Default [FIXED] GE DBXR463ED1WW Heats but doesn't dry clothes

I have the above model dryer. Did some preliminary research so I tried to remove the vent hose and see if that resolved the problem. It did not. It seems hot air still blows out the back, but my clothes will not dry anymore. In fact the inside of the dryer was EXTREMELY hot still, but after about 4-5 dryer cycles my clothes are still not dry. It worked fine up until about a week ago.

I do own a multimeter, but not sure where to begin my testing and also not sure which setting to turn my multimeter to.

Also my lint filter and the exit blower of the dryer are clean and free from lint. Troubleshooting steps/guide would be helpful.

    Thanks!

    -Chad

    Hi Chad,

Sounds like you may have a lint clog inside the dryer, because if its heating, it should be drying.

I'd check your front lint filter housing thats below your lint filter.

Here's a link of how to take it apart:

Your lint filter duct housing is #311 here:

Unplug your dryer first before taking it apart.

    Jake,

Thanks so much for the informative response. This is the best $5 I've ever spent. I opened up the dryer with the great instructions you forwarded on and cleaned out the lint filter duct housing. I must say I was skeptical when I opened it up because there was a lot of free air space in there and it didn't appear to be clogged but after cleaning it, and putting everything back together last night the dryer works perfectly again.

Thanks again! I still feel like I owe you more than $5
