Default GE WWSE6260B1WW agitates then overloads, spins fine

Fills, then agitates. After a few minutes of agitation, it stops agitating continuously and starts and stops. Sounds almost like an heat overload and reset but fast - once every second or so. Can hear relay click, then hum, tries to agitate, then shuts off again. Will finish the agitate cycle like that, then drain and spin just fine.

Seem isolated to the agitate and only after a few minutes. It does this with relatively no load on the machine, either; last time was with a small load fill, no clothes, and no agitator. Seems to agitate fine in the rinse cycle, perhaps because it's a shorter cycle?

Yes, I understand. Usually if a washer is about 8-10 years old, and the cost of the replacement part is more than $200, I aways advise my customers to save the repair money for a new washer, as other parts are wearing as well.
