Yes at this point you can be reasonably sure the keypad is the problem.

Oven turns itself off
I have a GE Range Model # JBP 79A-S1AA. It turns itself off, sporadically, not all the time. Sometimes it gives me the error message that the Oven door is open, but it isn't and the temperature that I set it on, is only 350º or 375º.
I have tried, going out to the garage, and shutting it off from the circuit breaker box and then turning it on again. It worked. It stayed on. But,sometimes, it still keeps going on halfway thru my cooking a chicken or roast. Can you possibly tell me what is wrong? Thanks !
Have you ever heard of GE Ovens turning on by themselves? Suspect faulty ($175) replacement OC. Any other ideas

That model# isn't showing as good, please recheck it.
Now when it shuts off, does the clock stay at the temperature? Or does the temperature thats set just go back to the clock in the display?

Thanks, Jake for replying so quickly. I'm new at these boards, so please have patience. I rechecked the Model # and it is
J BP79A S1AA < (THAT IS A NUMBER ONE). If I set it at 375º, for instance? I may look away for a moment and the darn thing goes off! (The number disappears and the oven is off).
Ah! When I go to turn it on again? It stayed at the number I had it on. 375º. Thank you ! Elena

Ok, I found it.
Yes, the problem sounds like the Clock oven control board is bad.
Unfortunately is No Longer Available.

Wow! That's what happens when you hang on to something too long, Jake. It looks brand new, but is very old. I guess, I'll have to save up, to purchase a new one. Thanks, ever so much for replying ! And I want to take this opportunity to wish you a very Happy Father's Day! Goodnight.. Elena
