Unhappy replacing GE ice dispenser chute door

Thanks for your help in advance. The ice chute in the dispenser is clogging up with ice and frost all of the time (in just a few days after I clear it out). I have not unassembled it yet, but by feeling around, I think the seal/gasket on the flapper door that allows the ice to drop has become deformed and warm air gets into the chute constantly, causing frost and clogging it as ice cubes get stuck in it as well. I would like to know if it is possible for an average person to replace this flapper door (or the larger unit). How can I figure out the necessary part numbers?

Can you provide directions on how to unassembled the dispenser to get to the part I would need to replace and advise me if I should get the larger unit or try to replace the flapper itself. Is there another diagnostic step I should take?>>

Yes jsultan, but we need the model# of your refrigerator first.

The model# tag should be located inside the refrigerator section on the upper walls or ceiling.
