Whats the model# of your refrigerator? Its located inside the refrigerator section on the upper walls or ceiling.

Thanks,

Is everything else in the freezer frozen solid?

If so, then its a bad ice maker.

Here's the ice maker for your model:
Manufacturer part#WR30X10093 is RepairClinic item#1399596
WR30X10093

Yes, if its not freezing things solid in the freezer, then the ice maker can't produce ice.

The freezer temp. should be between 0-10 degrees.

Jake, I have a GE PSS27SGPA FRIDGE. The temp. is perfect in the fridge. The temp in the freezer stays at 21. I opened up the freezer panel and the coils are all frozen. What could this be? Thanks Ron

The way I test the motherboard is process of elimination, if the evaporator coil in the freezer is all frosted up, by doing a ohm test for continuity first on the defrost thermostat and defrost heater, if those both check good, then the motherboard would be the bad part.

You can ohm the defrost thermostat WHILE ITS FROSTY for continuity and the defrost heater as well.

It may be the motherboard, as GE has had alot of issues with this going bad.

Manufacturer part number WR55X10942 is RepairClinic item number 1531075
WR55X10942

Here's the defrost heater for your model, in case you need to order it:
Manufacturer part#WR51X10055 is RepairClinic item#914088

Here's the defrost thermostat for your model:
Manufacturer part number WR50X10068 is RepairClinic item number 1170024
WR50X10068

Your defrost heater is #230 here AND defrost thermostat is #240:
