Default [FIXED] Cooling issue on GE Profile SxS

My model number is PCF25MGWC BB.
FF section get no higher than 53.
Freezer section is 6.
Setting is set to 0 on freezer and 37 on FF.
I cleaned out compressor coil that had dust.
I have been reading posts and saw that the defroster components
mybe at fault. I removed the freezer back panel and saw that there was ice and
frost onthe evaporator. Ice/Frost was at bottom where heater is and on the outside of coil clung to tubes and some on top.
I melted all the ice/frost with hair dryer and removed the heater.
I put everything back except the heater which I tested at 22 ohms.
i assumed that with the ice melted, that everything work since I removed the ice. Even without the heater installed, I assume that it will take
some time to build up again, so I ran it for 24 hours and it still won't reach the correct temp. 6 on Frezzer 53 on FF. I checked the evaprator fan and
it works. Attached is a picture of the ice on the evaporator before I removed it.

I know how to run diagnostices on the front panel, but it gives me 4 digit status codes when I run the tests. I don't have the access to the codes or their meaning. Can anyone point me to where I might find these codes.

Keith

Hi,

The codes should be on your tech. data sheet, do you have that?

Also notice if your compressor in the back of your refrigerator keeps running constantly, if it doesn't then its likely the motherboard thats bad.

Default I'll check

First, thanks Jake for responding to my post
At the bottom of fridge was taped Technical Data Sheet.
It's just 1 page with Main controler board schematic on one side and on the other some specifications and total fridge wiring/tubing
diagram. I don't see any codes.

I'll also check to see if the compressor continues to run. I'll get back to
you on that.

I just checked to see if compressor is running and it is(condensor fan is running). I'll check again later on to
see if its still running. Do you think it maybe with the sealed refriguration system.
My fridge is 1.5 years old, but the sealed fridge system has a 5 year warranty.

From the photo you uploaded it sure looks that way, because all the coils should have just a thin layer of frost on them.

Thats why I asked if you noticed if the compressor was running all the time or not.

If the compressor is running all the time and the coils still look like that, then yes its likely a sealed system/compressor issue.

I kind of hope its sealed system/commpressor issue. I put back the heater
I removed yesterday, and I noticed that only the lower 1/4 had flost on them.
I have to get it fix it
pronto, so I called service. I'll let you know how it turns out.

GE repair guy had laptop that he plugged into mother board. His laptop said that
it was 88 degrees in FF sectionr. My $5 termometer said it was 51 degrees. He looked at bottom of FF and found ice on outside of FF evaporator. Bummer, I didn't
realize that this unit has a additional FF evaporator coil. He said because it looked like the it was always hot in the FF, the FF evapoator never went into defrost coil mode. He replaced part WR55X10025 Sersor Temp FF and WR55X10956 Board Asm Main Control.

He just plugged fridge back in, so to early to tell, but I suspect everything will be ok. Wish I had the software & cable so that I could diagnose like he did. I guess
appliances are getting like cars, where you have to computers to help you diagnose
problems.
