Question GE side x side won't defrost

Defrost Problem on a GE side by side #GSL25IGRBBS.
The Freezer coils freeze up. The defrost heater never seems to operate. The defrost heater Checks good at 22 ohms. The defrost thermister reads 0 ohms hot or cold. I removed the thermistor from the circuit with no change. Had a service call from a local company. A Kid came out and looked at the defrost heater and declared it good, and told my sister it probably needed a new control board. My sister then ask me to look at it. I took the Tech's word and replaced the control board. That did not fix the problem. I have the thermistor on order. I don't think the new thermistor will help since I have removed it without a change in operation. I have read all of the threads and I can't find exactly my problem. Any ideas?

If the defrost heater and defrost thermostat check good, then it can only be the motherboard thats bad.

Did you install the correct motherboard? they make several different ones.

Here's the motherboard for your model:
Manufacturer part number WR55X10942 is RepairClinic item number 1531075
