NO POWER:GE Profile- Model GSD5620DOOBB
Please Help!!
Two days ago, after running the dishwasher, I found all the lights in the control panel out. Also there was quite a lot of water inside the tub, which tells me that the whole cycle had not been completed.
The dishwasher had no power! I went to check the circuit breaker and it wasn't tripped. I called GE Support, explained the problem and was told to turn the circuit breaker off, wait for 15 minutes and turn it back on. I did that, but it didn't help.
I have a GE dishwasher repair manual and was reading that some GE dishwashers have 1 or 2 internal fuses protecting the heating unit. I thought a blown fuse could be the reason for the lack of power. I removed the lower access panel and looked for the fuse box but I couldn't find it.
So, for now I'm washing my dishes by hand...
Can anybody help?
Please note that I don't own a ohmmeter, but I can buy one if necessary.

Hi,
Your model GE is very electronically controlled, I would advise a Appliance tech. to check it for you, as this repair can be very involved with those expensive parts.

Thanks, Jake...
I bought myself a multitester at Home Depot and plan to fool around with it and see if I find the power leak. If I have no luck, I think I will buy a new dishwasher, because calling a GE Service technician will be a waste of money considering that the unit is already 5 years old. Especially if replacement parts for this model are expensive,as you say. Prices of a new dishwashers are not that high, anyway. Thanks, again.
