Default [FIXED] Door Latch Wiring Help Needed

    Model Number: GSS1800Z01
    Brand: GE

Hi All. I have a GE Dishwasher GSS1800Z01 18 inch built in dishwasher that the door latch broke. I bought a replacement latch and when I removed the old door latch, I was not careful enough to mark the wires that I removed. So now I have two black wires and two white wires, and have no idea which wire goes where into the new latch. Can anyone help? I would appreciate it!

Unfortunately GE doesn't make wiring diagrams available online.

So you would need to locate yours, its either in the console or down at the very bottom behind the lower access panel.

    thanks for your info Jake.
In fact I contacted GE and they did email me a diagram..but it doesnt really help me, being an untrained eye. I have attached the PDF file to see if you can make sense out of it. I would really appreciate any info. Again right now I have two black wires and two white wires and not sure which prongs they go into.

    Good diagram.

    Ok, easy.

The 2 white ones go on the right side door switch, the 2 black ones goes on the left side door switch.

Thanks so much! I'm gonna try it either tomorrow or next day and let you know how I made out! One more question...my old switch says its 20 amp and this new switch says its 15 amp..I have been told its the correct switch from the company I purchased from..does the amp difference indicate its the wrong switch? I just dont want to blow anything out. Thanks for all your help!
