GE Dyer Just 3 beeps. Won't start.
I tried cleaning out the lint filter... Even took it out and cleaned underneath. What does 3 beeps mean? I feel very confident in my ability to take this unit apart and try to fix it, I just need to understand the system... Does any one have the service manual?
Or any idea what might be wrong.

It sounds like your thermistor or control board is bad.
Here's the repair manual for the GE, Frigidaire, & Kenmore(417) Dryers made after Jan. 2005:
http://www.applianceblog.com/manuals...Dryer_2005.pdf
You would need a ohm meter to ohm test the thermistor at room temp. with the dryer unplugged.
It should read 50K-53K ohms at room temperature, if not, then order the new one and you'll be back in business.
Here's the one for your model you can order if you need it:
Manufacturer's Number: 134587700

Does the thermistor short or open as it heats?

Did you ohm it yet?
Get a hair dryer, Turn on the hair dryer and direct the air flow at the thermistor. The resistance measurement on the ohmmeter display should decrease. A typical thermistor will decrease from about 10,000 ohms to about 1,000 ohms, although these values can vary with the thermistor model.
But on this model a decrease from 50K-53K ohms to 40K-43K ohms.

3 beeps usually means a bad thermistor.
But thats why I want you to ohm it first, because if your thermistor is fine, then that 3 beeps means a bad control board.

I'm assuming they tried the ohm thing and got no result? How big of a fix is taking the board out, Jake? My mom has a similar problem with her front load washer and dryer. If I can just fix that, I could probably sell it for her...

hahaa, I didn't mean to sound rude, but if someone doesn't take my advice and ohm test a part I advise them to and just keeps asking questions I have little patience for that, I have way too many members here that I need to get too.
And he failed to answer my question in post#4 where I said: So if someone doesn't answer my questions I'm done helping.
