Ge dryer on/off problem
The dryer turns off when you open the door and starts back up when you shut the door. Before today you had to use the start knob. It will turn off when you place the timer knob in the off position. Just leaving the door open at the moment. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Its your start switch that has welded contacts causing this, you'd need a new start switch.
To change it you just pull your dryer out from the wall, then unplug it and remove the back console panel then you will see it, should just unsnap or twist to remove it.
Here's the start switch for your model you can order here:
Manufacturer part number WE4M519 is RepairClinic item number 1811221

I wanted to check the start switch, to make sure it was the same one in the link. I took the switch off and it is a match. When I put it back on, the dryer works properly again. Maybe just lint, it was a bit dirty. Thank you very much for the advice.

Ok, thats fine, possibly lint or something, but if it keeps happening you'll need to replace it.
