GE icemaker overfilling when using water dispenser
hi,
i have a GE side by side frig model TFX22ZPBBWW. the problem is when i use the water dispenser the ice maker overfills and leaks. the ice maker is level. i just bought a brand new ice maker WR30X0327 to replace the problem i had with the ice maker leaking when making ice. maybe that was a mistake because i put in the old ice maker and it too was overfilling and leaking when i used the water dispenser. so i suspect the problem isn't with the ice maker unless the new one has the same problem but, at least the new ice maker isn't leaking when making ice anymore. now i would like to fix the water dispenser/ice maker problem.
the one thing i noticed both ice makers doing and i'm not sure if this is by design but when i press the water dispenser the water enters the ice maker the same way it does as if it was making ice! ie through the tube above the ice maker dropping into the top of the ice maker. the ice maker overfills and leaks but, i'm also getting water from the water dispenser.
just wanted to give you and update. i purchased a new relay harness and installed it today. but, water still comes out from the water line that goes to the ice maker when i request water from the water dispenser. what should i do now??
i appreciate any help you can offer.
