Magnetron Tube Kapoot?
Symptom: Mag tube doesn't activate.
Observations: Clock and timer work. Set timer in prep for cooking and press Start... sound of switch engaging, timer begins count-down, no light in cavity nor sound of mag tube.
Conclusion: Probably inoperable magnetron tube. Already bought a replacement.
Question: Did I jump the gun?

Hi,
I'd be checking the door switches!
Q - The microwave display counts down and the inside light is on, but nothing is heating and the fan is not running.
A - This most commonly is a bad door switch, other possible problems are a faulty relay or solder joint on the power module, but a bad door switch is most common.

The clip was very helpful, Jeff. Thanks. I trust that the click I'm hearing is the switch engaging? But then... if it's clicking... it's engaging .... no? Well... a check of that switch is certainly in order in any event. Any idea of where I can find a diagram on my unit that would help me get to those switches?

Just remove power, remove the outer cabinet shell to access...

Not always.
