Another GE knocking
I picked up a set of GE front loaders today from a friend. I leveled the washer and it is making a loud noise on the higher spin cycles. The model number is WCVH6600H0BB. I have tried it with clothes and without. I relieved it and it got better but it sounds like a brick is in the washer. I took off the front access panel and the shocks look to be n good shape. The only other thing I noticed is some belt debris as the belt looks to be worn. Do I have some bad bearings?

Sounds like possibly the main tub pulley.
Read the thread here and jeff1's answer in post#2:
GE Front loader making noises, squeeks, belt getting chewed up, falling off of pully

Would a bad pulley cause the washer to me a knocking noise during the spin cycle?
Thanks

You bet, thats why you should check that pulley first and see if its loose, if its tight, then your problem is the bearing.

Jake, you hit the nail on the head. I was able to tighten the pulley almost half a turn and boom, the knocking stopped. Should I replace the pulley and belt?

Good job, yes I'd order the pulley kit and belt to keep it from happening again.
You can order both from jeff1's post#2 in that thread I linked to above.

Just an update. I changed the pulley and belt and it seemed to resolve the problem. It still has a loud banging noise when we wash a load of towels. You can actually see the side of the dryer panel getting pounded. Other than towels, it works great.

Ok, then its likely your bearing or inner drum spider arms that are cracked or broken, you'd have to take the washer apart completely to see. No easy task to do unless you have plenty of time on your hands.

Thanks for all of your help Jake. I think I will use the washer and dryer as long as I can and then purchase a new set. I hope I can get a year out of it or maybe sell as is for 500 which is what I purchased the set for. Again, thanks for all of your time and it was great to learn.
