Question GE Profile wall oven on the fritz

For a few months now, we have had to listen to our oven (JK910B0A1BB) sporadically start beeping, just flashing "start" by itself. After a while, it stops. Sometimes, you can fire it up and have your roast half done, and when you check the display, it's turned itself off! Also, if you try to set it to bake while it's having a 'beeping fit', it only accepts two numbers and then clears out, and sometimes none of the buttons will work at all. We finally turned the darn thing off at the fuse box yesterday, when it refused to stop beeping. Do we have to spring for a new touchpad & control panel?

This oven was not cheap - What happened to ovens that do nothing but work for 15-20 years

    Thanks -
    Molla

Oops, don't count on your husband to give you the correct model number, LOL. The number should read: JK910BA1BB.

    Thanks -

You will need just the control panel touchpad.

    You can order it here:
    Panel control assy

The Ranges that lasted 15 or 20 years, didn't have control boards in them. They only had knobs to turn.

Thanks very much, you ROCK! Now I'll just have to choke up the $$$.
I will be sending everyone I know to your website, it is GREAT!

I would be glad to go back to knobs! Doesn't the heat from the oven affect the electronics - (oh, but I guess they know that, ha,ha - built in obsolescence!)
    Thanks again-

    Thanks,

Actually Whirlpool did have a issue on their wall ovens about 2 years ago that the heat from the oven, especially after the self-clean cycle would kill the electronic control board, as it heats to about 800-900 degrees in self-clean.

They have fixed that issue as of now.
