My GE washer fills but when it stops and I close the lid it won't do anything. The timer runs the whole cycle, and I can hear the clicks of the various modes but nothing happens. I tested the lid switch for continuity and it works. I ended up testing each mode by jumping the contacts directly from the harness on the timer switch and every function actually works... it agitates, it drains, it refills and it spins... but only by manually jumping the leads, not on its own. Here's the weird part... first I connect the agitate lead - it agitates. Then I connect the drain lead - it drains. I then repeat this to rinse the clothes. I re-drain the machine then once the drum is almost completely empty it'll start spinning on its own and finish the spin cycle normally without my help. Any ideas what may be wrong?

Hi,
We need the model#, but I'm assuming its less than 10 years old? It sounds like a bad contact in the timer assembly. Jake

Thanks for the quick reply. It's a GE WDSR2080D5WW. It's just under 2 years old.
