ge profile performanceside by side fridge side not cold
Hello,
I have a GE Profile Performance side by side. Model #TFX22PPDAWW. I am not sure how old. It is not more then 4 or 5. It worked when I first set it up. Two weeks later the ice cream got soft. Then it was almost all liquid. Then the frige side stay only just above room temp.
I don't see any water on the floor. The fan is on. There was no dust. Just cleaned it. Any ideas? Would any one know how to tell how old it is?
Thanks
Rachel

Hi,
Is it room temp. in both the refrigerator and freezer sections?
Is there frost build up on the inside of your freezer's back panel.?

I see the frost on the inside on the back of the freezer. The freezer is cold enough to hold the ice but ice pops or ice cream dont. Also I have it on the highest setting and the bread that is in there is not frozen solid.
The frige side is also on the highest setting and the food is just above room temp. I don't see any frost inside here.

Ok, That means you have a auto-defrost part thats out. If you want to fix it yourself you will need a volt/ohm meterand read this link about testing the parts involved:

I myself see more defrost heaters fail on GE models.
