Default GE Defrost Control Timer

Aloha, I have a question about the defrost control timer for a GE TBX18sasjrwh refrigerator (top freezer, bottom refrig). I noticed that while doing a search about the defrost control, some are the 6hr, 12hr and 15 hr types and the heater is 44 min or less. How do I know which defrost control to get?? I don't know if the defrost control in now is the original so how can I get the right one? Isn't 44 min too long?? Mahalo, doogdoog

Defrost timer control

That is timed by the timer, the heater is controlled by a defrost thermostat that will shut off the heater once the evaporator coils have reached a predetermined temp.

Aloha Jeff1, Thanks for the reply and explanation. I cannot seem to find parts using this model #. TBX18sasJRWH. This is the correct # and it looks like the J in the model # is the problem. Is there a site where I can punch in the numbers and come out with the correct part? What does all the numbers and letters mean? Mahalo, doogdoog
