Red face GE elec dryer has heat for only a minute...

Hey, my anti-dryer is killing me. I gave it a good vent and expected it to work but nope. I turned it on and ran the dryer with the door open and noticed the coils heat up and run for a minute or so then the turn off. What could be the culprit?

Thanks
Dan

Ok, if you open the dryer door while it is running/heating, you cut off the circulation through the dryer, thus your element will cycle off on the hi-limit thermostat.

Pull the dryer away from the wall, take off the vent hose and test dry a load, also take the air temp. from the dryer exhaust, average on high heat should be 160 degrees.
