Hello All -
This is my first post. I have a GE GSH25KGMC side-by-side which is about 4.5 years old. The only problem I have had up to this point was a minor one, in which the flapper sometimes sticks open, causing the inside of the freezer/dispenser to frost up. my solution has been to disassemble the flapper solenoid, and lubricate it with some good spray lube, like white lithium grease, etc. . Anywho, that's not the problem now. The new problem, which just started the other day is with the water dispenser. It stopped dispensing water. I first suspected the filter, so I removed it, emptied the water, filled it back up, and reinstalled it. It still didn't work. I played with the switch in the door for a few minutes, then checked to see if it had ice in there, and it did, and i then emptied the ice out to see if it would make more ice. By the time I did this, and closed the door, it started dispensing water once again, in fact a little better pressure than it used to (it always has seemed to have low pressure, but I believe this is the house pressure, which is lower than some homes). I figured it was a fluke, or some trash in the lines that came loose, or whatever, and assumed it was 'fixed'. The next morning it was not working again. I played with it again, and nothing. So when I got home, I removed the filter again, and this time i left it out and put a cup underneath the spout that the filter attaches to, and hit the button to see if anything came out there. The drop of water that wa hanging there moved very slightly, but no water came out. I put the filter back on, and still nothing. I removed the ice again and dumped it out to reconfirm that it was still making ice. I put the tray back in and of course the water started working again. The pressure of the water is as before, slightly low. I don't think I had the door open long enough for anything to defrost if it was frozen, and when I hit the switch in the door, I hear a solenoid or valve in the back click too. The only thing I can think of right now, after reading some things, is that maybe the valve for the water is starting to go bad intermitently or something. I'll dig into it more over the next few days. Does anyone have a link to an exploded view of this model, or instructions on diagnosing/removing/replacing parts associated with this? Thanks for any help. - TJ |

Hi,
Here is the parts diagram of your model: GSH25KGMC You can order any part from that link too. It sounds like your water inlet valve may be bad, but you would need to do a voltage test on your water inlet valve when you or someone presses the water dispenser lever in the front. Here is a help link as well: http://www.applianceaid.com/frig-dispenser.html Jake
