Default GSD3660G00SS: Nasty residue, bad cleaning!

We have a GE Nautilus dishwasher, GSD3660G00SS. It is about two years old, and came with this house.

It cleaned "okay" until recently. We have been using those Electrasol puck-style detergent cubes all along. But something happened, and now I see a film, and even some occasional food bits or lip prints (blech) left on the glasses. I'm sure the mess is on all the dishes and just visible on the glasses so I am not using the dishwasher anymore.

I've opened the door a few times and since I don't know what I am looking for, all looks pretty good. The water level is just below the heating element. It appears to be draining completely.

Upon close inspection, there was a wad of some sort of plasticky and fibrous stuff stuck in one hole of the sprayer arm. And, there is a hole on the bottom side of the sprayer arm, which appears to belong there, but why? It is on the side which has three holes in the sprayer, and it is close to the outermost tip of the sprayer.

    Any ideas? Thanks as always!

Yes, that looks like the part.

I cannot find a picture of the part on line though, that shows if there should be a hole on the bottom of the arm. The questionable hole on the spray arm in our dishwasher is on the bottom of the far edge of the part in your drawing.

Should there be a lower hole? If so, why?

I'm testing the dishwasher again as I type this, now that we have the fibrous stuff cleaned out. It looks like it was scotch tape and rubber bits.

Well, the problem seems to be solved. The wad of fibrous stuff most likely included some scotch tape. The machine is cleaning as well as ever now, but I've had to really work at getting the tape/plastic residue off the dishes that were affected (scrubbing by hand).

Thanks for the part info, Jake!
