Defrost Timer Location
My side by side, model 363.9542613, has heavy ice buildup on the coil at the rear of the freezer. I have been told that the most likely cause is a defective thermostat and/or defrost timer. I have purchased both parts and replaced the thermostat easily but can't find the defrost timer... help!

Defreost timer is located in refrigerator section, back wall next to and to the right of the cold control. More common than the defrost timer or defrost thermostat going out is one of the defrost heaters being bad. There are two glass tube heaters on the evaporator connected in series. Check those first. If you find one is bad, replace both.
