Default GE GSC22QGTAWW - Clicking noise water despenser

Hello

Last night the power went out at my apartment in the middle of the night and when i woke up the fridge was making a clicking noise. The clicking noise is coming from the water dispensing area, also where the temperature controls are. If I push the water lever back in the cup fill area the clicking stops but continues when released. Tried unplugging also. I do no have water connected to the machine and the ice maker is turned off. Also, the control panel for the temperature also located in that area is not functioning. The fridge is still working though otherwise.

Any advice? Thanks in advance

alan

It sounds like your control board on the freezer door is shorted out.

Here is a new one for your model:
Interface dispenser asm
Its on back-order so it may take 7-10 days before its shipped.

This is from Jeff's www.applianceaid.com site:

GE's newest SxS refrigerator dispenser.
Small flat screwdriver to pry/ease the bottom part of the key panel loose and out towards you...
Picture

The key panel will come out towards you and ( with power off ) the wires are easy to unplug...

Remove 4 star screws...

The whole assy will easily come out towards you...

You are there...
