My 4 year old Kenmore range glasstop looks terrible from the coating burning off.I am very disappointed in this unit.Does anyone know of a reasonable priced smooth top range that this would not be a problem? Thank you Georgeharry

Most of the causes of that are wrong pans and using too hot of a temp cooking ... they are all about the same

We sell a lot of used ranges. Every glass top that has come in has had at least one burner with a scorched surface. Thats over 100 in the last year. I don't see that problem as often or at least it's not as noticable on the ranges that use the quartz halogen burners. However, I don't get alot of those in. It doesen't seem to be as noticable on glass tops that have a gray and black pattern. (I had 2 cents, thought I'd leave it here)
