Default Wire to heating element

Maybe off topic, but I need some help.
In small appliances like waffle irons and sandwich toasters, there are stranded wires covered with a cloth-like (fiberous) insulation that connect to the spiraled heating elements. I need to replace such a wire. Where do I get a wire like that and what is the correct name of the wire?
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I'm sure one of you guys can help.

it's a high temp wire with fiberglass insulation wrapped around so it doesn't contact metal and short to ground. make sure you get same type and size of core wire- silver or copper, and cant have exposed wire when done. appliance parts store- for use in ovens/microwaves, bring sample. do it right cause someone will be touching it if it fails.
