    Default Whirlpool dehumidifier problems

Have a Whirlpool model #AD65USM2 serial # QR3424128 dehumidifier for our basement here in Georgia. Last week I noticed it was no longer operating so here I am.
It is always plugged in and cycles the compressor on/off as required for normal use.
Here are the issues, while plugged in no lights or normal functions from the switches on top. Power to unit is good, thats where we are at. Looking for a fuse to see if its blown for power. ANY SUGGESTIONS? iT IS ABOUT 5 YRS OLD.

edit- removed circuit board to check for obvious burn spots, none, have 120v coming in not sure about transformer output, fan motor turns fine by hand.

    Hi,

Ohm the transformer ( is it seperate from the board ? ), it will have one primary winding ( 120 volt side ) and often at least two outputs.

While removing tranformer to ohm it I found a smaller circuit bord inside the control box that has a burned spot in the tape between the spade connector and the resistor, i installed a small jumper and the unit started up, but the compressor doesnt want to cycle on or off all the leds on the control board operate normally. the full tub switch is working also. I can hear a faint click like it trying to cycle on while plugged. what next?

i ohmed out the compressor here's what I have; between the white and yellow wire connectors on the compressor im showing 9.2 on my fluke. the start thingy ohms out at .3 flickering to .2. do I need to ohm between the brown (going to the start thingy) and the other connections?

part number for the overload is 1186981. Is that keeping the compressor from starting and could it have caused the circuit board to burn out in that one spot?

The click is the overload doing it's job....shuting off the compressor since it cannot start.....overload will sense too much current ( from trying to start ), or too hot and shut the compressor off as a safety device.
Sounds like a seized or bad compressor.
