I have a GE Model JP672B9N1BC Modular Downdraft Cooktop with JXDS42 Solid Disk Module. Sometime back I inquired of GE whether a JXDR50 Ribbon Element Module would work in this cooktop and was assured it would not. But in fact it does! Are there any lists of which plug in modules are compatible with which cooktops, both within a brand and across brands? Are there compatibility standards that manufacturers observe? Any insight will be appreciated.
