Default KitchenAid Oven troubles

My KEBC171KBL oven no longer heats. It is a little over 1 year old. I recently did a clean cycle and gor F5 E5 error code. I do not believe it has worked since. I would appreciate any advice on how to go about trouble-shooting this oven. Also, are there any places on the web or any books that give a general overview of the circuitry inside a typical oven? Thank you.

Hi,

There should be 2 more numbers after the L at the end of your model#, then I can give you a service sheet/wiring diagram link.

I would be cutting power to the range, pulling it out, removing the back panel and checking the fuse, reference # 37 in this breakdown, these open if the ovens get too hot, usually after a self clean cycle has been run...part number is 9759242

However looking at your tech sheet it is not showing a F5-E5, let me look further, this might go back to the oven control, but have to find what that code means..are you sure of those numbers???

You are right on that one! It was indeed the over temp thermostat. I ordered a replacement and should be back in business by the weekend! Thank you for your help.

Yes I am sure about those numbers. When I took the oven apart the repair instructions that I found inside did not list that error code either, so who knows. As I said in my earlier post however I found the problem to be the overtemp thermostat. Thanks again.

Jake
I located the schematic inside the oven housing when I took it apart. I am all set for now. Thank you for your response.
