As mentioned above I have an inoperable icemaker within my Kitchen Aid KSRG25Fk fridge. The fingers(ice moving component?) are facing down, the water line is not frozen, and the front door water dispenser operates properly.
The fridge wiring harnes has from black/white to white 110Vac, this is with the icemaker disconnected and under no-load. Jumpering the L to V does not turn on the water valve, and jumpering the T to H does not make the motor turn. The optical recieiver is solid when the flapper is depressed and blinks when the flapper is released. WHen the icemaker is connected to the fridge harness, the L to N measured Ac voltage drops to 0.56Vac. Has anyone seen this type of fault before and has knowledge of a a possible repair. Thanks. Is there any water or ice in the ice maker itself at all?
If the ejector fingers are down in the ice maker mold, then its likely you have a bad ice maker module. There should be 2 more letters and 2 more numbers after the K in your model#. Jake

Hi Jake,
The exact model number is KSRG25FKSS16, and no water is in the icemaker itself. Here is other infor regarding the module: the dc resistance of the motor is 4400 Ohms, the black wire in line resistor is 0.1 Ohm, and the water tray temp sensor is open. According to another post, if I jumper the refrigerator's wiring harness black/white wire to the tan wire the water solenoid valve should activate. Is this correct, or should I activate the solenoid valve from behind the unit? Thanks, Trent |

Thanks,
Jumping L & V on the module should open your water inlet valve to let water in your ice maker. Here's the ice maker module for your model: Manufacturer part#8201515 is RepairClinic item#961550 ![]() Jake

Jake,
The 120 Ac voltage dropping to 0.6 Vac on the wiring harness when loaded with the ice maker control module, resembles a potentially bad isolation transformer. With a 20A circuit feeding the fridge, and if there was a short within the module, this would have cooked the module and or icemaker motor. The harness 120Vac was not able to power the solenoid water valve, and is suspicious. I'll measure the voltage with a jumper applied from black/white to tan. Is there an isolation transformer that feed the icemaker? If so, could you please tell me where it is located? Thanks, TRENT |

Jake,
I ordered and installed the control module for the icemaker. Unfortunately the new control module did not correct the fault. Next, I ordered and insalled the emitter/receiver modules. The new optics module did not correct the inoperable icemaker either. I looked like the control relay was not operating. I said to myself, "Self, there must be an open in the wiring" . Double checking the conductivity within the wiring connections, I found that the in-line black wire element (fuse, bi-metal or clix-on), that is clipped to the bottom of the heater tray, had developed an open this time. I Ohmed this element during the initial troubleshooting and wrote down that it was 0.1 Ohm. Looks like a hard failure now. This inline device is within the icemakers wiring harness and connects to the refridgerator's 4 wire harness. Any idea what it is, or where to buy it? Trent |

Very interesting, I've never see that in-line fuse go bad, but glad you found it open.
It comes integrated with the ice maker wire harness, you can order it here: Manufacturer part#2187467 is RepairClinic item#908660 ![]() Its out-of-stock at RepairClinic at present, but its in stock here: Manufacturer's Number: 2187467 Jake
