KitchenAid Superba Double Oven DOOR LOCKED- please help!
I'm baaaaack. You guys were a huge help with my KitchenAid (p-o-s) Fridge just a few months back, and now I'm back for my P-O-S OVENS!!
I cannot find the model number because the door is locked, and I think it's in there, no? I will keep trying....
I used the self clean mode according to directions on the top oven. 3 hours later, self clean completed, but door never unlocked. Screen says DOOR LOCKED. All the buttons beep, but I cannot turn on the light or operate either oven at all. Bottom door is unlocked, Top door is locked.
When we reset the power from the basement, it turns back on and give codes E7 and F5, DOOR LOCKED (and it flashed too hoot for a second, too)
Please, any help you can give me? THANKS SO MUCH!

Welcome back Wilma,
This is going to be a little more difficult to fix. Yes, if you checked for your model# everywhere and can't locate it, its likely in the oven door.
You may have to pull your double oven out of the wall to fix it, I would recommend having this done by KitchenAid techs. as you will need 2 people to help pull this out.

Thanks for the reply, Jake.
My husband and I were able to fix it last night. I will try to explain how, in case anyone else has the same issue.
We (very carefully!) removed the side trim and were able to remove the face plate/control panel enough to expose the latch area. With a screwdriver, we were able to reset the latch mechanism, so it released the door.
Surprisingly, once we put it all back together, the oven worked perfectly again.
Our guess is that there is something wrong with the latch sensor, and if we use the self clean function, it will happen again. From reading here, I'm sure we'd need a new sensor, but for now our remedy is to clean it ourselves (the old fashioned way) to avoid the lock function altogether.
Our ovens are 7 years old, so we're hoping to get at least 3 more years from them, even if I have to scrub them myself
Thanks again for having this forum!

Ok, sounds good Wilma, glad you got it unlocked.
Yes, you will likely need a new lock assembly.
Whats the model# of your double oven?
