Default Kitchen Aid Double Oven KGBS276XWH0

Kitchen Aid Double Oven KGBS276XWH0

The self clean feature doesn't work on either oven. I need a trouble shooting guide. Several service calls have not helped. Either they don't want to take the time or don't know how to find the problem.
Any help will be greatly appricated.

Seems to be an older model. Do any of the indicator lights come on when you begin a cycle? Have you used this ovens self clean before or is it in a house you recently moved into?
The parts to the self clean cycle are the selector switch, the thermostat, the latch assembly which includes several microswitches for safety, and the timer.

It was in the house when I moved in about 7 years ago. At the time one of the ovens would go through the self clean feature. Since then when I set the selector knob to clean the indicator lite does not come on on either oven, also the lever when moved to the cleaning mode does not fully close.
Any ideas!

The lever not engaging fully would seem to indicate a bent bracket, or popped rivet in the sliding lock mechanism. If the microswitches are not properly engaged, the machine will not do a self clean.
On the inner door panel, are there any bends or chipped enamel where the lock slides into place? Maybe you have a bad hinge and the lock is binding?

Hi,

This is an older one, I rarely see these anymore myself, most all are digital now.

You will definitely need a volt/ohm meter to diagnose this yourself, and you will need a good basic knowledge of testing electrical components.

Its a shame that most techs. nowadays don't have the time or knowledge to fix these older ones, as they require much more time testing and knowing what parts do what, than the electronic digital ones of today.

Here's the service sheet on your model, it has what to test in it for your issue:
