Question Kitchenaid Superba Range - Error code Sab

    Hello,

I have a Kitchenaid Superba Flat Top Range/Convection oven. Model # KESC307BWH6. It recently failed with an error code of 5ab. Or it may read SA6, or SAb... I can't be sure. The cooktop works fine, but the oven will not operate. And most of the touch panel appears to be nonfunctional.

I am a technician, but don't know where to start with decoing this error code on the front panel. Can anyone help me please?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,

-Sounds- like it might be an Sabbath mode that has been set. You use&care manual shouls have destruction on how to reset that.

    Might show SAb

Thumbs up Sab = Sabbath mode

    Jeff,

thank you very much for your assistance on this matter. Indeed, I only had to get out of sabbath mode. As a bachelor, I simply chose not to use the oven for the last few months. But the mini toaster just has it's limitations, you know?

I don't like how the troubleshooting tips in the user manual doesn't mention Sab as an error code. I guess that it's not truly an error code, and yet I entered the Sab mode quite by accident and didn't know that it WASN'T an error code.

You've saved me an unnecessary visit by the Kitchenaid tech and I appreciate it.

One question; is this your website? Or are you an appliance technician? Never mind, I just read your title as technician/moderator.

    Thanks again!

Nope, Jake owns the Appliance Blog and forum. I own Appliance Repair Aid

Or are you an appliance technician?
    Yes.
