Default Kitchenaid KGRT607HBS6 oven

Hello everybody. I have a Kitchenaid Superba model number KGRT607HBS6 oven that stopped working recently. Burners work perfectly. The gas certainly comes on and I can smell it, just it will not heat up. The readout gives no indication of any trouble, simply stays on "Lo". I have read a number of threads describing similar situations. My question is do I locate the ignitor terminals in side the back access panel? 2. If I have the correct voltage there this means the ignitor is bad? If no voltage there what might be the next item to check?

The closest part number I found for ignitor is 910020.

Thank you very kindly.

Hi,

Yes, check for 120 volts with a volt meter at your oven igniter while the oven is on. If you have 120 volts at the oven igniter and the oven igniter doesn't glow orange, then yes the oven igniter is bad.

Here's the oven igniter glow bar for your model, in case you need to order it:
Manufacturer part number 9782065 is RepairClinic item number 910020
9782065

The oven igniter terminals are under the oven in the very back, so you'll need to remove your storage drawer and get a flashlight and put your meter leads on the terminal ends of your oven igniter.

There are 4 terminals attached to a valve thing in the back of the drawer area. The one single thickest shielded terminal does provide 120+ volts only when oven is turned on when removed from the terminal and checked with the meter. No voltage is detected anywhere else as if no voltage is passing thru this valve thing. With oven off no voltage is detectable anywhere in this area. Does this indicate a bad ignitor?

Yes, that indicates you have a bad oven igniter glow bar.

Just ordered the part up. We'll see how it goes when it gets here. Is there anything I would benefit from knowing before I start this part exchange? Thanks.

Not in particular, its pretty much cut & dry when you change it, just make down where the wires go on the old one and put them the same on the new one.

Exchanged the part and it worked perfectly. I then made ribs for dinner in the oven. Thanks Jake.
