Default Kitchenaid KUDS01IJ - Sanitized Light Blinks

According to the manual it says to check the temp of the incoming water. We raised the temp on our water heater and the light still blinks. After opening the door several times the water does appear to be getting colder and colder.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

There should be 2 more letters and a number after the J at the end of your model#. Your model# tag is located inside the dishwasher on the upper walls.

So what happens is it fills with hot water, then just sits there flashing the sanitized light? The motor isn't running?

Default A little more info...

Here's the correct model # KUDS01IJBS0.

Unit fills and runs through the entire cycle without any problems just has the "Sanitized" light blinking when the cycle is complete. Dishes appear to be not as dry as they once were when cycle is over.

Ok,

I haven't run into this issue myself, but I just emailed prosdog to see what he did to fix his from this thread here:
http://www.applianceblog.com/mainforums/showthread.php?t=3110
Its the exact same problem you have, when I receive his reply I will post it for you.

I was reading in the repair manual that if the sani temp. doesn't get to 160 degrees, it will flash the sanitizing light at the end of the cycle, so you may have a heating element problem, as your saying the dishes aren't as they used to be.

Do you use the heat dry option?

I've been searching the internet all AM and it appears the heating element is the culprit.

The machine doesn't kick out the steam like it used to so yes we use the heat dry. I found the link you posted!

I ordered one and now the wait...

The heater element in ours is round, the one from Appliance Part Pros is angled. I questioned that and the rep said he checked with KA and they did change the shape.

I'll let you know.

Yes, yours is angled and it comes with the control board.

Here's the heating element for your model, in case others need to order it as well:

Thank You Jake! Is pulling the unit out the best way to replace the heater element?

Heater and control panel arrived today, No instructions in the box.

Does it matter which gets installed first?

I assume the contriol panel is in the front door.

Thanks!!

Yes, you can install either one first.

The inner door liner screws for the console just unscrew then you have access to your control board, it mounts with plastic clips that you use a screwdriver to pinch the clips and the control board comes out.

Here's the repair manual for your model, you can print it out, it explains everything on how to do it:
https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/52521bdbd0ef763c85256cbc00520548/$FILE/8178022.pdf

The new control board doesn't come with that white thermal fuse, simply unsnap it from your original control board and snap it in the new one.
