Default KUDS02SRWH2 Thermal Fuse Blows

History:
May/08 Led's associated with operation modes would not illuminate.
May/08 Replaced control board 8562996 and dishwasher worked fine
July/08 Original problem returns, order second control board and original problem does not go away. Order Overlay that contains the start/cancel/cycle time part number 8573956 and problem solved.
July/08 3 successful loads later, thermal fuse blows.
I normally run dishwasher in the normal mode with heat dry.
The dishwasher does its preliminary stuff then begins counting down at 96. When it gets to 82 (I can duplicate this every time) the dishwasher continues to run and never drops below 82. After 20 to 30 minutes the thermal fuse blows. I have blown the fuse twice watching the process.
August/08 Replaced thermister/Optical water sensor part number W10134058. No change in symptoms, counts down to 82 and continues to run (I shorted out the fuse and will only let it run up to 15 minutes).
October/08 Replaced heating element part number 8537057. No change.
Other info: Incoming water temp is 110 degrees. I ran it through the diagnostics and got the correct results. I disassembled the unit to clean the screen and grinder filter/screen.
What is going on at 82 that stops the dishwasher from moving on?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Default KUDS02SRWH2 - Overlay Part Replaced

The overlay that I replaced is on the Door and Panel part diagram and it is refered to as overlay(white) in my case. There is a ribbon cable that connects it to the part identifed as #5 in the diagram below.

I did order the ribbon cable suggested below and will let you know the outcome.

thanks

Oh Ok, this is a new design I haven't seen yet.

So the overlay(white) is #7 here:

Default KUDS02SRWH2 - Replaced Ribbon Cable

I installed the ribbon cable with no change in performance. Functioning dishwasher as it counts down. At 82 timer no longer decrements, but dish washer continues to run.

The only thing I can add is that there is a slight change in the sound coming from inside the dishwasher a 82. The normal swishing sound plus a different sound, perhaps a humming noise. Sorry, hard to describe. I am trying to figure out what is going on at 82 so I am listening closely. Is there something that I can disconnect and run it through the cycle?

No Unfortunately not.

Well, this is very odd, you've changed basically everything that has to do with this issue, not sure whats causing it now.

You can return that ribbon cable for a full refund. The packaging slip that came with it explains how.

You may have a deeper underlying problem that a KitchenAid factory tech. will need to come out to your house.
