Kitchenaid KUDS01FLSS3 Thermistor - Wrong Size
Hi,
First time using this - seems like a good resource. Motor was growling and not cleaning so I thought the motor was about to go after 4 years. So...... I replaced the pump/motor assembly. Everything looked fine until it came to the thermistor. The old and new pump assembly are identical as far as I can see with the exception that the old thermistor is too small for the socket on the bottom of the new pump assembly. The old pump has asmall socket hole as in this photo:
Old pump to be replaced: http://www.repairclinic.com/referral...1265&N=1060514
The new pump has larger thermister socket like in this photo http://www.repairclinic.com/referral...1265&N=1173212
Do I have the right pump for a KUDS01FLSS3? Part# 1173212?
Can I use this new pump? What is the correct thermistor to order for this pump?
Any help would be appreciated as the entire thing is in pieces in the kitchen now for two days and wife is getting steamed.

Hi,
I double checked what pump/motor assembly yours uses, and its definitely this one:
http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=1265&N=1060514
Manufacturer part number 8535150 is RepairClinic item number 1060514

What part numbers are on the box that it came in?
They may have sent the wrong one by accident. As far as I know you can't intermix thermistors.
The part# on the box should say 8535150.

Yes -- wrong box, they swapped for correct one. But when re-assembling, I seem to have an extra drip shield. One is attached to the motor -- where does the second attach?
Thanks

Never mind -- it's the drip shield for the drain motor.
