Default [FIXED] Kitchenaid Superba KUDS01DJSS0 removal question

Model Number: KUDS01DJSS0
Brand: KitchenAid
Age: 1 -5 years

Hi all,
I have a non functioning dishwasher. Worked fine up till now. Circuit panel in the basement is all showing good to all circuits. I am clueless on how to get it out from under the counter top to access anything I may need to check. The under counter lip screws are out and the unit slides out 4-6 inches. Then it seems to be stuck on the cord. At least that's how it feels. I cannot locate the plug end or electrical hookup anywhere. I feel cabinet dis assembly may be in order. Suggestions? thanks.

Hi,

You should have 2 wirenuts that hook-up to the main power into the dishwasher from your electrical junction box underneath your dishwasher.

Its #21 here, just remove the #20 screw to it:

Remember its 120 volts live power, so turn your breaker off to it before touching the bare wire.

I always test for 120 volts there with my volt meter, to make sure its live.

Latest revelation. The wife flipped 2 circuit breakers yesterday and when I asked her today if all circuits were on the answer was yes and she was standing right at the electrical box. Well the dishwasher AND the basement sump pump were switched off and the floor drain started backing up with ground water. Guess what I just got done replacing to the tune of 270 dollars thinking it was bad. Bad day for me today.

Still looking for ideas on how to pull out the dishwasher as with my attempts previously I managed to unhook or break some sort of water hook-up. Thanks.

Yes, I wouldn't take a chance of breaking stuff trying to get your dishwasher out, some tile companies that lay tile after the dishwasher is in, DON'T account for a dishwasher removal later down the road.

Don't know what the answer would be, maybe another member who's had this same issue can help you out.

After removing the bottom cover plate I saw exactly why I was stuck as shown in the top picture. Went out and got some "crowsfoot" wrenches and removed the line and fixed everything right up. A big THANK YOU to Jake. He is the best.
