Default Kitchen Aid KUDP01FLSS1 Won't Start

I have owned this dishwasher for about 6 years. It cleans great but have had a few problems like bad heating element (warranty) and nylon door hinge broke a couple years ago.

Yesterday, I noticed when I try to open the door it sticks and you have to pull with force to get it open. When you shut it, it doesn't seem to have the click noise it use to (broken latch?). Also when you push the buttons and shut the door nothing happens, it won't start. All the lights on the key pad seem to be working? Any ideas? Does a bad latch cause the dishwasher not to run?

Also, the plastic cover on the start button on the inside top of the door has came off due to wear. Can you replace the plastic/vinyl button cover?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,

Yes, you'll need a new door latch assembly.

Here's the cheapest one I found for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8193830

8193830

Unfortunately, you would need to get the complete console assembly to fix that start button issue:
Manufacturer's Number: 8531267
