Default [FIXED] Kitchen Aid Range/Oven does not function

I have a Kitchen Aid Duel Fuel Range Oven, Model # KDRP407HSS13, about two years old. A couple times since I've had the oven it would power down and not respond, so I reset the circuit breaker and the oven came back on. A couple months ago the oven went off and will not come back on. The stovetop works fine, oven does absolutely nothing. I purchased the oven from Best Buy, and have been dealing with them for two months as they come and replace parts (Control Board, Power Transformer, and Control Knobs) but still nothing out of the oven. Now they are saying that my warranty has expired and they can't do anything about it. Any idea what the problem might be? Do you know where I can get a service manual for this oven?

Your range has a thermal fuse located behind the control panel similar to the one used in this post. If all those parts have been replaced, and it still isn't working, I would check this fuse. I don't have the replacement part number handy as it would take a bit of research, but you can easily check it with a meter and see if it is open or not. I would expect a tech to check that first, but I know plenty of them that don't even know it's there. Try and check it out and let us know what you find. I can look for the part number in the morning.

Thanks, I will check that tomorrow. Can you tell me where exactly it is located? You say behind the control panel, as in the knobs/display at the front of the range?

Default Found it!

I couldn' wait til tomorrow. So I opened up the front panel and saw a small, round, black thing with two wires going into it. Hooked up the voltmeter to it and got no continuity. I pulled it out and jumped the wires with a paper clip and the oven came back to life! So I just need to replace this fuse, but can you tell me what the part no. is? There are five sets of numbers on it as follows:

36F24 20193 L65C W10017820 A0604

Also, can you recommend a place to purchase this part from? Thank you for your help.

Great work. Yup, here it is thermal fuse. That fuse is designed to open up the circuit to the appliance manager board in the event of an overheat situation such as after a self-clean cycle has been run. But all to often, they fail just after a power outage or just because. If you chose to keep the paper clip in place until you can get the part, DON'T SELF-CLEAN the oven. Just to be safe.

Found a local place that stocks the fuse, gonna pick it up on my way home from work. Thanks again for the spot-on diagnosis.
