Default Kitchenaid KEBS207DWH1 Dead

Our Kitchenaid Superba KEBS207DWH1 stopped working yesterday after I shut it off and tried to restart it. All of the front panels led lights are dimly lit and the keyboard will not respond. No error codes. Also the inside lights for both top and bottom oven do not turn on when we open the door. I tried the breakers with no luck. Although I suspect the computer board, this is a bit fishy since it is getting power. Any suggestions? or hints?

Thanks

Hi,

It may not be getting the full 240 volts to it, I've see that happen before, the way to verify it is with a volt meter, you would need to take the control panel console off then you will see the terminal block where your main power comes in.

Be very careful though if you plan to do-it-youself.

The 2 end wires on the terminal block are HOT, and the middle one is NUETRAL. So you put your meter on the 2 end ones and it should read 240 volts.

To access inside your control panel open your oven door then take off the side trim#2 here on each side:

I believe it just has one screw on each side holding in the trim, then once the trim is off you will see 2 screws on each side of the bottom of your control panel.

Make sure you turn the breaker off to your oven first!

If thats ok, then its likely you have a bad control panel touchpad assembly.

Here's the one for your model:

Thanks
I don't really have good access back there so I made measurements on the computer board.
Just to clarify. I take measurements on P7 or P8 with P4-1 and I get 120v AC.
P7 or P8 to P5-2 is over 240v AC

When you suggest a bad panel touchpad assembly does it include the Electronic Control (I think it is part 4448871)? or is it just the touchpad and display?

No it doesn't include the control board.

But there has been times when I had to replace both on this model, its best to replace both since they work together, but the cost of both is about the same price half the price of a new double oven.

Here's the control board for your model:

Since I will probably not be able to return an installed part, Which one do you suggest I install first?

If you purchase parts from our links here and you install them and it doesn't fix the problem, you have a 30 day full refund when you return them, even if you installed them.

I would get the control board first.
