Angry Kitchen Aid Dishwasher problems KUDP01FLBL2

Friday, our dishwasher stopped at the end of the cycle (did not drain). The control panel will not light up, though there is power to the unit. Door switch does click. Any information that might help me fix this? Thanks! Dan

Hi,

So its completely dead, wont do anything?

When its completely dead like that, then its likely your thermal fuse.

Here is a help link on this issue:
http://www.applianceaid.com/kadish2.htm

You can ohm it for continuity with an ohm meter to see if it has no continuity. Thats what I always do, make sure when you ohm it for continuity that your home breaker to the dishwasher is off and you take the wires off to the thermal fuse first.

Here's the cheapest one I found for your model:
Manufacturer's Number: 8193762

8193762

Its easy to change, it comes with complete instructions, make sure you follow the instructions and the wires that come with it MUST be replaced too.

Yes, after you change it, then you can run the diagnostics.

Yes, it is completely dead. I'll order that thermal fuse - thank you for the very helpful information!!!

Also, the buttons on the top are worn/peeling, need to be replaced. I don't want to spend a fortune on this because we are selling the house hopefully in a few months. Which part would this be?

I replaced the fuse, and now, a couple of months later, the dishwasher will not power on. Suggestions?

Did you also replace the wires that came with the fuse, if not, then you'll be replacing that fuse every couple months for the lifetime of your dishwasher.

Its extremely important to change the wiring that comes with the fuse kit!

Ok, then check the fuse again for continuity, if its good, then you have something else causing it, I'd check your main power cord wire coming into your dishwasher's junction box underneath your dishwasher, I've seen the wire nuts either come loose or arc/burn loose to cause a NO power issue as well.
