Default KitchenAid dishwasher-long cycles.

I have a KitchenAid dishwasher (model KUDI01ILBL1, 5 year old). and the wash cycle takes almost 4 hours to complete. I suspect the control panel. Am I thinking correctly?

Thanks
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

Its possibly the thermostat under the front of your tub, this thread explains what to do:
Quite Partner IV 8533704 Whirlpool Gold
Yours uses the exact same thermostat, in case you need to order it.

Default Element not heating

Hello Jake,

I had a control panel and a thermostat. I installed the thermostat and no help. I felt the coil and it was ice cold. Am I to assume the bad coil is causing the long cycles for the very reason it is not heating? I tried to find a part number for the coil but no luck.

I should have said heating element instead of coil.

On your model, it comes with the upgraded control board, you can order it here:
Manufacturer's Number: 8194200

8194200

Its mandatory to change the control board when you change the element.

The easiest way to change the element:
You unhook your plumbing, electrical, and drain hose from it and pull your dishwasher out to get to the back of it, thats where the plastic nuts hold it in place, they just unscrew to remove it, remove the wires that connect to each heater terminal first.
