Hi,
I have a 2001 Superba KSCS25FJSS01. About 3 weeks ago, the ice dispenser just stopped working. The ice maker works fine, as does the water dispenser. We tried all the troubleshooting solutions suggested by KA. When I press the glass against the flap, I can hear the clicking and low hum that something wants to happen, but the arm does not turn, and nothing comes out.

According to some of these posts, I'm *guessing* that my auger motor is bad, or it is a wiring issue. Since I know nothing about appliance repair, how do I figure out which it is, and is this something I can replace fairly easily?

Hi Holly,

Take your ice container bucket out then try the ice dispenser to see if the motor turns.

Let me know what you find.

The same thing happens when I take the ice bucket out: the chute opens, I hear a hum (softer than when it was in), but nothing happens.

If it is the auger motor, is that easy for a non-professional to replace?

Yes, very easy.

You just remove #1 here:


And #2 is your auger motor.
