Default [FIXED] Freezer stopped working and is now working again

    Model Number: KSRS25IKSS01
    Brand: KitchenAid
    Age: 6-10 years

    Hello,

Need to get more information and debug it a little more but this morning my mother called to tell me the freezer was thawing out. Then an hr later she called and said everything was working fine. Does it seem like it is a bad starter relay? I will check to be sure both the inside freezer fan and compressor fan are both working.

    Thanks,
    Nick

Update: I hear a rattling sound now that it is running. The freezer fan is working but will pull it out and check the rear fan. Could I be assuming it is the starter relay?

2nd Update: I pulled the fridge out and checked the back out. Looks like the rattling isn't coming from that area. The fan also seems to be running. The one thing is that this relay is tied on with a zip tie. I will try to post a picture of it. Also is the compressors supposed to run hot?

OK went and got the kit. The device was making noise when I was shaking it. So looking at the instructions, I see I have style 2. What I am confused about is do I need to replace the new overload protector or leave it as is? I have EGY90 and says to use part 2154697 but the part that is already in the one is 437NFBYY which matches my old switch. Also the other problem I have is I have three wires, White with a black cap, blue with a red cap and a red one with a red cap but only have to prongs in the back of the switch.

    Help!!!!! LOL

Here is what I have and it has this long white piece on the back of it which mine does not.

Ok I figured it out. I wasn't supposed to use the white pieces at all. I used the black one and the bottom overload part and everything is now working.
