kitchenaid dishwasher won't drain or finish cycle. XXXX suds inside
Brand:
KitchenAid
Age:
More than 10 years
Ran dishwasher and noticed A LOT of suds seeping out of the bottom. The whole inside was full of suds but the detergent dispenser had not released the detergent yet. Now there is about 3 inches of water sitting in the bottom and won't drain. Tried to let it finish the cycle but it just turns off.

Have you noticed suds in it before, but not to that extent?
You'll need cold water to flush the suds out. Just get a big container and fill it with cold water from your sink and pour it in your dishwasher and put your dishwasher on drain and see if it flushes it all out, you may need to repeat this process several times.

This has never happened before. Suds were running onto floor with door closed! I put a fan near the dishwasher until it dried up the suds. Then I ran a short wash with NO detergent and it was fine. Then I ran a normal cycle with detergent and it was fine. Thanks for your help! Hope that doesn't happen again!
