Kitchenaide kuds30fxss turns off after 1 minute
Brand:
KitchenAid
Age:
1-5 years
The dishwasher blue light turns on in all cycles, it sounds like water is running into the machine, then it clicks a few times and has a quiet motorized sound. About 1 minute later the machine and light shut off and it drains with no lights on for another 20 seconds or so. Circuit board had been replaced when it was about 6 months old (different problem then). Machine is only about 1 1/2 years old and of course out of warranty. I have tried turning off the breaker, and the various key sequences noted in other repair posts with no luck. The machine had been working great until this morning. Help!!

It's probably going to be the control board again. Try to invoke the diagnostic cycle by selecting any three keys and pressing them in this sequence; 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3 with no more than one second in between presses.

OK Sorry, this time start the diagnosis cycle with the dishwasher in standby mode. All lights off and door closed. Do you hear the wash motor turn on? Does it drain the water? Does it advance through the cycles? Does the heater turn on? It's kind of like a process of elimination. If everything seems to be working, replace the control board.

On this dishwasher I have to have the door open to hit the series of buttons to get the diagnostic cycle to start. Once the lights all came on I shut the door and let it do it's thing until it beeped. I could hear water, the motor (although it wasn't very loud) , it heated up and water drained. I waited about 10 minutes and ran another try at a normal cycle ( the soap dispenser even opened during the diagnostic run but not enough water in tub to rinse it all away ). It ended up doing the same thing as before - started then shut itself down in about a minute. I guess it sounds like the circuit board will need to be replaced again. Should I try to wrangle some kind of guarentee from kitchenaid that this circuit board will last? Or am I wasting my breath?

It sounds like the control board and not the control/touch panel. In order to give you a link I need the last number in your model number after the S. If you order it from the link I give you, and it doesn't work you have 365 days to return it. That's a better warranty than you'll get from Kitchen Aid (Probably less expensive too).

I left off a 0 from the model number.
let me know the price etc. of the part and let me ask my husband if he feels capable of installing it. I know I'm not!
Thanks
