KitchenAid Diskwasher won't start with LED blinking
Brand:
KitchenAid
Age:
6-10 years
Model KUDS02SR
After power reset, it has heat dry LED on (steady) and main display as --.
No button appears to work. Pressing any leads to Heavy Load blinking. Pressing more can make the Normal blinks along with Heavy Load. The main display remains --
Sometimes pressing Cancel can lead to draining sound, even though there is no water.
Does anyone know how to troubleshoot?
Thanks

Its the main board most likely, and yeah you'll need the full model number should have 3 more digits on the end like kUDS02SR SS1 RB2 or WH0. You can take of the lower kick panel and look at the Technicians documents it should have a trouble shooting area sounds like its a sticky LED and it should recommend you replace the main board.

Hi,
If it's to replace the main board, is there a service to that? Or instruction on how to DIY?
Thanks

Yes, its fairly easy to change, just turn the breaker off to your dishwasher first.
Here's the parts diagram for your model, just remove the screws#8 from around the inside of the console, then you can access the control board#11.

Apology but what's the "breaker"?
One the link said to check thermal fuse and door switch for continuity. Is there any instruction on that? Just want to narrow down to the main board before purchasing.
Thanks

The breaker is your electrical breaker in your home breaker box, go to your home breaker box and look for a breaker marked dishwasher and turn it off.
Your thermal fuse is fine, or nothing would light up on the control panel, and your door switch is fine or it wouldn't drain when you press cancel.

I was about to buy the main board. Then 4-year old son started pressing all the buttons. All of the sudden, the dishwasher became normal and I could then start the cycle. Certainly my son could not tell me what he did that fixed it.
Now I realized that this is broken after the cleaning lady came. I knew her clean the dishwasher door every time. I wonder if there is some key combination locks/unlocks the panel
Does anyone have any suggestion?
Thanks

Your son got lucky and made it work again by just pressing buttons randomly, but this problem will return again if it did it once, Unless the cleaning lady got water in the keypad assembly and its dried out now and your son by pushing the buttons made the button contacts work again, you may have got lucky all the way around, so keep using it and let us know if it stops working again.
Tell the cleaning lady not to clean the keypad with lots of water, just a damp wipe.
There is no lock button controls on this model.
